This April, Civil Alchemy and Field Theory are teaming up to offer Morel Foraging excursions in the Saint Louis area. Every Sunday morning we will meet at an undisclosed location where there the climate and conditions are conducive to yielding Morel Mushrooms. The workshop will focus on learning the fundamentals of Morel Mushroom foraging, including identification, locating, how to harvest and how to use in cooking.
For those not familiar, Morel mushrooms, scientifically classified as members of the Morchella genus, are a highly sought-after type of edible fungus known for their distinctive appearance and delicious flavor. They can be very challenging to find without guidance or pre-existing knowledge of where they manifest.
Kelley Barr of Civil Alchemy will be leading these excursions as Guide. She certified to identify Morel Mushrooms in the State of Missouri and has extensive experience hunting the highly coveted Fungi.
** Keep in mind, Morel Mushroom’s are highly coveted for a reason. Because they are harder to find, we cannot guarantee that we will locate Morels. However, we can guarantee that you will learn basic foraging skills that will aid in future forays.
