COMPANY INFORMATION
Summit Magazine, founded in 1955 by Jean Crenshaw and Helen Kilness, began as a skiing publication before evolving into a renowned platform for discourse on mountain culture. Over its 35-year tenure, Summit garnered a loyal readership, featuring contributions from esteemed climbers like Royal Robbins and David Roberts. In 1990, under new ownership by David Swanson, Summit transformed into Summit: The Mountain Journal, showcasing longer-form storytelling and attracting notable contributors like Jon Krakauer. Despite a hiatus from 1996, Summit was resurrected in 2023 as Summit Journal, emphasizing archival-quality content and large-format photography. Today, Summit Journal remains dedicated to capturing the essence of mountain life through insightful narratives and stunning visuals.
